An OpenFDE Fellow is a forward deployed engineer selected by OpenFDE, trained through real project practice and welcomed into a long-term talent network.
It is not a public-course label, paid membership or academic position. It is earned through application, selection, training, certification, practice and continued contribution.

After onboarding
Am I a Fellow as soon as I apply?
No. The program is selective. Members use the OpenFDE Fellow identity only after completing the relevant training and review.
Do learning, training or onboarding cost money?
Open materials, foundational training, onboarding applications and foundational certification are free. The Fellow identity is never a paid membership badge.
Can I apply without an FDE title?
Yes. We care about evidence that you can enter a field, understand a business, deliver production work, build evaluation and drive adoption.
Does the Fellow identity last?
Selected Fellows enter a long-term network. Certification status continues to reflect new project records, capability evidence, contribution and community conduct.
